West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Josh Griffiths is closing in on a move to Championship rivals Stoke City. The academy graduate is set to bring an end to an association of almost 15 years with the Baggies.

What happened?

Griffiths, who turns 25 in September, has been courted by Stoke this summer as the Potters look for cover and competition for star No.1 Viktor Johansson.

Why it matters for West Bromwich Albion

The keeper was given the opportunity to begin last season as first choice between the sticks but, despite some strong performances, he was dropped by former boss Ryan Mason in December following errors.

What comes next?

Albion sealed a new three-year contract for January arrival Max O'Leary last month, though with Griffiths set to depart there will be more recruitment carried out between the sticks. | Stat | Value | | --- | --- | | Age | 25 | | Appearances | 45 | | Contract Length | 1 year
