West Brom duo Molumby and O'Leary named in Ireland squad

West Bromwich Albion players Jayson Molumby and Max O'Leary have been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad for the September international window.

Jayson Molumby and Max O'Leary have been called up by the Republic of Ireland for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures. The West Bromwich Albion pair will join the squad for matches against Kosovo and Israel this month.

The first assignment is a trip to face Kosovo at Stadiumi Fadil Vokrri on Thursday, September 24. Ireland then travel to Hungary to play Israel at the Negyerdei Stadion three days later on Sunday, September 27. The international window continues into October with further League B games against Austria and Israel again.

The club offered its support to the players following the announcement. "Best of luck, lads!" West Bromwich Albion said in a statement.

Their call-ups come as West Brom prepare for a key Championship derby away to Wolves on September 20. Carlos Corberan's side currently sit fourth in the table with 14 points from seven matches.

The squad's recent form reads two wins, two draws and one loss from the last five outings. Key players Mikey Johnston and Nolan Galves remain sidelined, but the international recognition for Molumby and O'Leary provides a positive note. The pair will link up with the Ireland squad after the Wolves fixture.
