West Bromwich Albion head coach James Morrison has confirmed his squad is almost at full strength for Saturday's home match against Blackburn Rovers. Only two long-term injury absentees remain unavailable as the Baggies aim to improve their home form.

Morrison told reporters there are no fresh fitness concerns. "There are no new injuries," he said. "Everyone is fine except for the two long-term injuries, who are where they should be in terms of their recoveries." Right-back Nolan Galves is out for the season with a knee problem, while winger Mikey Johnston continues his rehabilitation from an ankle issue. Forward Kareem Tunde, who picked up a knock, has trained all week and is available for selection.

Mowbray reunion

The fixture brings Morrison face-to-face with his former manager, Tony Mowbray, who now leads Blackburn. Morrison made 73 appearances for West Brom under Mowbray between 2007 and 2009. "I’m definitely looking forward to seeing him," Morrison said. "It’s always a pleasure to be in his company and I love talking football with him." He acknowledged the challenge posed by a Blackburn side that has won three of its last four Championship games, collecting 10 points in that run.

Building on Wrexham win

West Brom travel back to The Hawthorns after a 2-1 comeback victory at Wrexham on Tuesday. Isaac Price and Aune Heggebo scored second-half goals to overturn Kieffer Moore's opener for the hosts. That result lifted Albion to seventh in the standings with 17 points from 10 games. Their recent home form, however, has been patchy, yielding just one point from the last two matches at The Hawthorns against Queens Park Rangers and Birmingham City. The team will now prepare for their next fixture, a trip to face Norwich City at Carrow Road on Tuesday night.

Blackburn, sitting 10th and two points behind West Brom, arrive with momentum after a 1-0 win at Bristol City. Oladapo Afolayan's long-range strike secured the points, with goalkeeper Balazs Toth making seven saves. Mowbray's side is aiming for three consecutive league wins for the first time since November 2025. The last meeting between these clubs in April ended in a goalless draw at Ewood Park.

Morrison is expected to stick with Brayann Pereira at right-back in Galves' absence, while George Campbell could continue in central defence after starting at Wrexham. Top scorer Jovan Morgan, with three goals this season, will lead the line as West Brom seek to solidify their play-off position. The match kicks off at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon at 15:00 BST.
